U Konserve Lunch Containers – New Neon Range

 

The latest range from U-Konserve has just arrived. Available in bright neon pink and neon orange it includes matching insulated food containers and round containers.

The insulated food container is made from a double layer of stainless steel and comes with a leak proof screw top. Heat up the meal at home and pop it in the food jar and it will stay hot for at least 4 hours – perfect for using up leftovers. It is also useful in hot weather to keep salads cool until lunchtime.

The clever construction means the food jar is cool to the touch when filled with hot foods, and moisture-free when filled with cold foods. We recommend pre-heating by pouring hot water into the food jar for a few minutes prior to adding your hot food. To pre-chill, place in the freezer a few minutes before adding your cold food.

The round container is perfect for packing snacks, fruit, nuts, hummus and lots more! Also handy for storing leftovers in the fridge.

Campbell’s Soup To Remove BPA from Cans

Following the Breast Cancer Fund “Cans Not Cancer” campaign Campbell’s Soup, has just announced that it is taking steps to stop using bisphenol-A, or BPA, in the linings of its cans.

BPA is widely used to line cans as it prevents corrosion, increases products shelf life and protects products during high heat sterilization. However, BPA has been found to leach into liquid and food it is in contact with. A known hormones disruptor, there are fears that BPA could increase cancer rate. Last October, a study from the Harvard School of Public Health linked exposure to BPA during pregnancy to hyperactive, depressive and anxious behavior in young girls, finding that the higher the mothers’ BPA levels, the more likely the girls were to exhibit behavior problems as toddlers.
